Health KPIs Get Competitive Too! Jing'an Office Workers' New Lunch Break Trend: A "Medtronic PLC" for the Body

Deep News12-19

Using lunch breaks to recharge for better health—this is the latest trend among office workers in Jing'an District. Recently, the "East China Health Talk: Workplace Health Bazaar" event, jointly organized by Huadong Hospital and the Jing'an District Health Commission, was held at the Baokuang Intercontinental Business Center.

Specialists from 11 departments at Huadong Hospital—including gastrointestinal surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, dermatology, endocrinology, urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, gynecology, and international medical services—provided face-to-face professional health consultations and free medical services for office workers. Experts patiently listened and offered detailed advice on common workplace health issues such as "takeout stomach," "screen skin," neck and shoulder pain, metabolic management, anti-aging, and eye health, providing personalized and practical health guidance.

"Jing'an District, as the core area of Shanghai's office economy, has over 200 commercial buildings with nearly 500,000 employees, 85% of whom are office workers," said Li Zhe, Deputy Director of the Jing'an District Health Commission. As one of Shanghai's 2024 pilot zones for occupational health protection in commercial buildings, Jing'an District focuses on addressing the challenges of "frequent chronic health discomfort and insufficient traditional service adaptability" among office workers. The goal is to establish an integrated occupational health protection model through collaboration between government, businesses, and medical institutions to safeguard employee well-being.

Jing'an District has consolidated medical resources, social organizations, and corporate partners to form the Jing'an Office Workers' Health Promotion Alliance, offering tailored health services based on workplace needs. This event, supported by multiple alliance members including Huadong Hospital, aims to extend high-quality medical resources to corporate offices, bridging the "last mile" of health services.

"East China Health Talk," a health education brand developed by Huadong Hospital, is dedicated to delivering authoritative and engaging health knowledge to the public. This time, Huadong Hospital and the Jing'an District Health Commission joined forces to provide accessible health support and medical expertise for office workers through an innovative model combining health education and professional medical services.
