Trump Breaks Silence on Mar-a-Lago Intruder Incident

Deep News02-24

A man armed with a gun and fuel canisters broke into former President Donald Trump's private Mar-a-Lago residence and was shot dead by security personnel. Trump publicly addressed the incident for the first time on February 23.

Speaking at an event held at the White House, Trump remarked, "You see many reports about crazy shooters—they only go after 'influential' presidents. They don't target the irrelevant ones." He went on to reference former U.S. presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated, describing them as highly influential figures and using the comparison to emphasize his own significance.

"I don’t know how much longer I have to live," Trump added. "A lot of people are coming after me, aren’t they?"

Mar-a-Lago is located in Palm Beach, Florida, a popular resort area where Trump frequently spends weekends. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw, the armed individual entered the estate as a vehicle was exiting through the north gate. Two Secret Service agents and a local police officer confronted the man, ordering him to drop his weapon and fuel containers. While he complied with dropping the fuel canisters, he raised his shotgun into a firing position, prompting the officers to open fire and "neutralize the threat." The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on February 22, while Trump and his wife, Melania, were at the White House.
