Urumqi Evening News Multimedia Report (by reporter Guo Junge) “Fresh rainbow trout, selected and weighed on the spot!” “Come and taste this handmade naan, it's delicious!” On October 18, a lively supply and marketing fair was taking place at the Yaxin Jiayuan community in Urumqi County. This fair, organized by the Urumqi County Supply and Marketing Cooperative, aims to address the challenges of buying and selling agricultural and pastoral products. By leveraging the circulation advantages of the supply and marketing system, it connects farmers directly with residents, allowing high-quality agricultural products to go straight from rural areas to residents' tables.

At the fair, blue tents lined up in rows, showcasing a dazzling array of specialty agricultural products amid a chorus of calls and inquiries from residents. “In the past, when we brought our agricultural products to the city, there were many middlemen involved, and we hardly made any profit while constantly worrying about selling out. This fair sets up stalls right under the residential buildings, saving on transport costs and opening up sales channels!" said Halima Bahemin, head of the Zhiminshan Breeding Farmers' Professional Cooperative, as she adeptly served yogurt curds to customers while smilingly recounting her sales. In just one morning, she sold over 5,000 yuan worth of yogurt curds, cheese, and yogurt, with the numbers on her ledger making her even happier.

Moving along the stalls, there were handmade naan and dried apricots from Ganguo Township, yogurt curds and cheese from Shuixi Town, and rainbow trout from Donggou Fish Farm. More than 30 types of specialty agricultural and pastoral products from Urumqi County were lined up. Residents either stopped to inquire about prices or began selecting items.

Zhang Qin, a resident of the Yaxin Jiayuan community, carried a bag filled with her "loot" and wore a satisfied expression: "In the past, if I wanted to buy authentic rural specialties, I had to make a special trip to the market. Today, everything is right at my doorstep! Just look at this fresh rainbow trout and this handmade naan; I just tried a piece, and the taste is exceptional! Plus, the prices are reasonable—it's really convenient!"

“This fair consolidates the resources of over ten enterprises and farmers' cooperatives from across the county, aiming to enable high-quality agricultural products to ‘emerge from rural areas and connect to the market,’” said Gao Linhai, Party Secretary and Council Director of the Urumqi County Supply and Marketing Cooperative, as he moved among the stalls, helping vendors organize their goods and answering residents' questions. “The ‘direct supply and direct sale’ model not only allows farmers to get a good price but also lets residents purchase trustworthy agricultural products at a lower cost. This embodies our original intention of serving both urban and rural areas through the supply and marketing system.”
