US Employers Announced Fewer Job Cuts in June, Down 4.5% Year-on-Year According to Challenger Report

According to a report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, U.S. employers announced 45,849 job cuts in June, bringing the year-to-date total to 443,604.

This figure represents the lowest monthly total since December.

Regionally, the announced job cuts were distributed as follows: 18,831 in the East, 7,520 in the Midwest, 11,678 in the West, and 7,820 in the South.
