#Xiao Zhan Concert Nearby Hotels Receive Price Reminder Letters# [ #Market Supervision Bureau Says It Has Not Yet Intervened in Concert Hotel Prices# : Hotels Have Independent Pricing Rights, Price Reminder Letters Already Sent to Nearby Hotels ] On October 13, the first stop of Xiao Zhan's solo tour landed at Nanjing Mengzhilan Youth Olympic Sports Park Gymnasium, with performances scheduled for October 23 and 25. Ticket-grabbing enthusiasm remained extremely high. At the same time, hotel room rates around the venue soared sharply, sparking heated discussion among netizens.

Staff from the Nanjing Pukou District Market Supervision Administration said they had already noticed this public opinion issue, and that each branch office had sent price reminder letters to nearby hotels that day, guiding businesses to take social impact into account and set prices rationally and reasonably.

A reporter checked booking platforms and saw that during the concert period, prices at multiple hotels around the venue rose astonishingly. At Home Inn Style (Nanjing University of Technology Subway Station Branch), the lowest price before the 22nd was only 179 yuan, but on the 23rd it jumped directly to 2,193 yuan, an increase of more than 12 times; at Nanjing Yangtze River International Conference Center Hotel, the lowest price rose from 534 yuan to 5,888 yuan, an increase of about 11 times; and at Ji Hotel (Pukou Research and Innovation Park Branch), the room rate also rose from 264 yuan to 1,820 yuan.

In response, staff from the Nanjing Pukou District Market Supervision Administration explained that under the Price Law, hotel room rates fall under market-adjusted prices, not government-set prices or government-guided prices. Hotels have independent pricing rights, and grassroots regulatory authorities do not have the power to forcibly restrict price increases. At present, the local area has not yet launched related price intervention. As long as hotels clearly mark prices, their pricing behavior complies with regulations.

According to legal provisions, only when local prices show an obvious and sharp increase, or there is a risk of a sharp increase, will the provincial government introduce price intervention measures, with grassroots departments responsible for implementation. Staff also mentioned that hotel operations have fixed expenses such as rent, water, and electricity, and that offering frequent discounts in the off-season and adjusting prices according to supply and demand in peak seasons is a common market phenomenon. At this stage, the regulatory authorities are mainly increasing inspections, urging businesses to clearly mark prices, and repeatedly reminding businesses that pricing should not consider only revenue but also social impact. @Jingshi Live
