Heartwarming Exchange Between Shaanxi and Hubei Escalates: Hanzhong Offers Free Entry to 30 Scenic Spots for Enshi Residents

Deep News05-08

A touching story of cross-regional kindness continues to unfold between Shaanxi and Hubei provinces. Recently, a fruit vendor from Yang County in Hanzhong, Shaanxi, fell seriously ill while doing business in Xianfeng County, Enshi, Hubei. In a moment of vulnerability far from home, the vendor received comprehensive medical care from Xianfeng County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Local residents also spontaneously organized a charity drive, selling over 8,000 pounds of the vendor’s apples in just 19 hours. This act of collective kindness helped secure the vendor’s livelihood and offered warmth in an unfamiliar place.

This goodwill did not go unanswered. Deeply moved by the support, Yang County announced that all its ticketed scenic spots would offer free admission to residents of Enshi for one year, expressing gratitude with the natural beauty of the Qinling Mountains. The gesture was soon reciprocated. On the evening of May 7, the Enshi culture and tourism authority announced a generous policy: throughout 2026, residents of the entire city of Hanzhong—including Hantai District, Nanzheng District, and counties such as Chenggu, Yangxian, Xixiang, Mianxian, Ningqiang, Lueyang, Zhenba, Liuba, and Foping—will enjoy free entry to the first gate ticket at multiple major scenic spots across Enshi. These include Enshi Grand Canyon, Enshi Daqing River Scenic Area, Tusi Castle, Longling Palace, Suobuya Stone Forest, Luyuanping, Tenglong Cave in Lichuan, Longchuan Water Village, and many others. Additional expenses within the sites will be covered by visitors.

Similarly, on May 8, Hanzhong city extended its own tourism benefit: throughout 2026, all residents of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture—covering Enshi City, Lichuan City, and counties such as Badong, Jianshi, Xianfeng, Laifeng, Xuanen, and Hefeng—will receive free admission to 30 fee-charging scenic spots in Hanzhong. Valid ID must be presented for entry. The offer is valid until December 31, 2026.

In addition, numerous hotels in Enshi—including Enshi Ruixiang International Hotel, Aoshan Accor Hotel, Hualongcheng Hotel, and others—will offer room discounts at 20% off Trip.com listed prices for Hanzhong residents during the same period.

This reciprocal exchange of warmth and scenic hospitality stands as a beautiful example of regional friendship and shared humanity.
