From November 9 to 10, 2025, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) held its regular governors' meeting in Basel, Switzerland, attended by People's Bank of China (PBOC) Deputy Governor Xuan Changneng. Central bank governors exchanged views on topics including the global economic and financial landscape, improving cross-border payments worldwide, the impact of non-bank financial institutions on monetary policy, and the effects of population aging on financial stability.
From November 11 to 12, Xuan Changneng visited UK financial regulatory bodies including HM Treasury, the Bank of England, the Prudential Regulation Authority, and the Financial Conduct Authority. Both sides discussed Sino-UK monetary and financial cooperation, financial stability, and regulatory issues, expressing willingness to further strengthen exchanges and collaboration in the financial sector between China and the UK.
