On September 4th, the financial frontline reported that according to the administrative penalty information disclosure table from the People's Bank of China Tongling City Branch, Tongling Wanjing Rural Commercial Bank has been penalized for multiple regulatory violations.
The bank was found to have breached regulations related to financial statistics, violated account management rules, failed to conduct customer due diligence as required, and neglected to report suspicious transactions in accordance with provisions.
As a result, the People's Bank of China Tongling City Branch issued a warning and imposed a fine of 210,000 yuan on the institution.
The penalty was formalized under the document number Tongyin Fajue Zi [2026] No. 2, with the enforcement decision dated August 31, 2026. The public disclosure period for this penalty will last for three years starting from the date of the announcement.
The action underscores the central bank's continued vigilance in enforcing compliance standards across financial institutions operating within its jurisdiction.
