In an interview, venture capitalist Zhu Xiaohu commented on the competitive landscape in China's tech industry. He noted that domestic competition is still in its early stages, with Alibaba just beginning to focus on the consumer (C-end) market, while Tencent has yet to fully exert its strength.
Zhu stated, "Tencent has always followed from behind. Over the past 20 years, it has never been the first to burn money on trial and error. Instead, it waits until others have figured out the market before stepping in. Gradually, it moves from fifth or sixth place to third, then second, and eventually becomes the leader. Tencent hasn’t fully exerted its force yet, so the domestic competitive landscape is still relatively early-stage."
