China and the Netherlands Reach Consensus to Foster Business Negotiations and Ensure Global Semiconductor Supply Chain Stability

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that China and the Netherlands have agreed that both governments should foster a favorable environment for businesses to resolve disputes through negotiation, ensuring the security and stability of the global semiconductor production and supply chain.

During a regular press conference held on the 16th, spokesperson He Yadong from the Ministry of Commerce addressed inquiries regarding progress in resolving issues related to Nexperia. He noted that since the establishment of an open and pragmatic comprehensive partnership over a decade ago, bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and the Netherlands has continuously deepened.

On July 7th, Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher visited China. During her visit, she co-chaired the 18th meeting of the China-Netherlands Joint Economic and Trade Commission with Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao. The two sides engaged in candid and in-depth discussions concerning China-Netherlands and China-EU economic and trade relations.

The consensus reached was that both governments should work to create a conducive environment, encouraging enterprises to resolve any disputes through consultation and dialogue. This collaborative approach aims to safeguard the security and stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply network.
