Chalco’s Controlling Shareholder Secures RMB1.80 Billion Loan Facility to Fund Share Purchases

Bulletin Express07-24

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco, HKEX: 02600; SSE: 601600) announced that its controlling shareholder, Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), has obtained a loan commitment of up to RMB1.80 billion from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China’s Beijing branch. The facility, with a tenor of up to three years, is designated exclusively to finance Chinalco’s planned increase in Chalco’s A-share holdings.

The financing arrangement follows Chalco’s disclosure on 20 July 2026 that Chinalco and its concert parties intend to purchase additional A and H shares worth between RMB1.00 billion and RMB2.00 billion—representing no more than 2% of Chalco’s total share capital—within twelve months. Funding for these purchases will come from internal resources, self-raised funds and, now, the newly secured ICBC loan.

Chalco stated that Chinalco will execute share purchases “when appropriate” under the announced plan and will apply the borrowed funds strictly for that purpose. The company committed to ongoing disclosure through the Shanghai Stock Exchange website and designated financial media outlets, advising investors to monitor official announcements for updates.
