NVIDIA-Backed Startup Aims to Raise $25 Billion to Boost AI Investments

NVIDIA's artificial intelligence ecosystem continues to expand as open-source startup Reflection is currently in talks to raise $25 billion in funding, signaling that the race to build the next major large language model shows no signs of slowing down.

Founded in 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers and based in Brooklyn, the company has already reached an estimated valuation of approximately $25 billion. It has quickly earned the label "the Western DeepSeek," particularly after China's DeepSeek made waves in early 2025 with its R1 model. Reflection's collaboration with the NVIDIA Nemotron alliance also highlights its close ties to the chip giant's rapidly growing AI footprint.

The speed at which capital is flowing in is remarkable. Just last year, Reflection secured $20 billion from investors including NVIDIA, Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Eric Schmidt. Now, JPMorgan is expected to participate in the new funding round. At the same time, the company is beginning to transition from theory to practical applications, such as developing a Korean-language model for New World Group.
