Educational Ministry Expands Vocational Training with 27 New Specialized Programs

The Ministry of Education has recently finalized the addition of 27 new vocational education programs for the 2026 academic year, comprising 9 higher vocational college programs and 18 vocational undergraduate programs.

The new additions are strategically focused on sectors with urgent talent demands, including the digital economy, low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment manufacturing, urban renewal, and critical livelihood areas.

Within the producer services sector, new vocational undergraduate programs have been introduced, such as Technology Brokerage Services and Low-Altitude Transportation Engineering Technology.

For the consumer services sector, higher vocational college programs have been established in areas like Infant and Family Care & Guidance, and Health & Wellness Tourism Operation and Management.

A significant number of the new programs are concentrated on key development areas like the digital and green economies, designed to align with newly recognized professions and job roles in the national occupational classification system.

To address emerging roles such as Robotics Engineering Technicians, programs including Humanoid Robotics Engineering Technology, Digital Twin Engineering Technology, and Vehicle-to-Everything Communication Technology have been added at both vocational undergraduate and college levels.

In alignment with green energy sectors like hydrogen and energy storage, new programs include a vocational undergraduate program in Hydrogen Energy Engineering Technology and a higher vocational college program in Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Technology for Energy Storage Materials and Equipment.

The development of these new programs is heavily informed by industry-education integration consortia and regional industry-education alliances, ensuring that real-world industry needs and core corporate demands form the basis for curriculum design.

Since the release of the Vocational Education Program Directory in 2021, the Ministry of Education has conducted regular annual updates to continuously enhance the alignment between the structure of vocational programs and the evolving needs of the industry.
