KB LAMINATES (01888) surged more than 4%, reaching HK$12.37 by the time of writing, with a trading volume of HK$180 million. The uptick follows reports that the company has implemented a new round of price increases for its products this week. Influenced by rising copper prices and tight glass cloth supply, KB LAMINATES raised prices by 5% for CEM-1/22F/V0/HB products and 10% for FR-4 and PP products.
This adjustment comes after Taiwan's Nan Ya Plastics increased prices for all CCL products by 8% in November. With raw material costs remaining elevated and high utilization rates among downstream PCB manufacturers, the upward pricing trend for CCL products is expected to persist.
Looking ahead, the value of CCL products is anticipated to rise significantly in 2024 as GPU and ASIC platforms adopt M8.5+ materials. Companies benefiting from these price hikes and those with advanced product portfolios are worth monitoring.
Separately, KB LAMINATES showcased its high-end solutions tailored for AI and automotive electronics at the 2025 International Electronic Circuit (Shenzhen) Exhibition (HKPCA Show) on December 3. The company highlighted its innovative offerings for AI servers, IC substrates, and automotive electronics, backed by proven technology and market validation.
