The Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission recently approved the construction of a dedicated railway line for the Yuxi International Logistics Port. The project aims to implement China's "shift from road to rail" policy, reduce logistics costs, and support environmental protection efforts.
Located in Yanhe Town, Hongta District, Yuxi City, the railway line will connect to the China-Laos Railway at Yanhe Station. Key construction details include: - A dedicated track spanning 1.014 kilometers. - Two new freight lines, each 400 meters long. - One 50-meter safety line. - One 90-meter locomotive waiting line. - A new container yard and supporting facilities for communication, signaling, power supply, and drainage.
Technical specifications: - Designed speed: 40 km/h. - Minimum curve radius: 300 meters. - Gradient: Flat. - Diesel traction with a hauling capacity of 3,000 tons.
The project is expected to handle an annual freight volume of 800,000 tons in its initial phase, with construction scheduled for completion within 12 months at an estimated cost of 77.0978 million yuan.
Upon completion, the line will facilitate international freight services, transporting domestic goods to customs-supervised zones for inspection before loading onto trains. Imported goods arriving at Yanhe Station will be transferred to the dedicated line for customs clearance.
The project will leverage Yuxi's strategic location at the intersection of the China-Laos and China-Vietnam railways, enhancing multimodal logistics connectivity, reducing corporate logistics costs, and boosting regional economic openness.
