From the first auditions by the Yangtze River to dazzling performances on stage; from the passionate launch in the golden October to the buildup of momentum in the deep winter—a cultural feast belonging to youth, music, and dreams reached its magnificent climax. On January 1, 2026, the finals of the "Hubei-Wuhan Third University Music Carnival" were grandly held at the historically and culturally rich Tan Xinpei Park in Jiangxia. Since its inception, the event has attracted widespread attention and active participation from students at dozens of universities in the Wuhan area. After a rigorous selection process including open auditions, multiple public performances, and advancement rounds, the top twenty contestants ultimately emerged. On New Year's Day, they presented the public with a high-caliber, positive, and contemporary music gala, showcasing diverse musical styles, full artistic passion, and an uplifting youthful spirit.
The event was hosted at Jiangxia's Tan Xinpei Park. Here, the classical elegance of the opera stage met the modern, youthful voices, creating not just a dialogue between art forms but also a vivid practice of Jiangxia District's strategy to empower urban development with cultural vitality. This initiative deeply implements the "Cultural Famous District" strategy, promotes linkage between "university campuses" and "urban communities," and fosters the integration of "harmonious living" and "pleasant ecology," fully demonstrating the unique charm of the "Leading County of Chu."
In terms of the competition arrangement, the finals venue featured not only a main stage for the "Top 20 Showdown" but also invited a panel of accomplished mentors covering diverse styles to provide professional guidance and commentary. A specially introduced "Trendy Creative Market" integrated music, cultural innovation, and特色消费, enriching the public experience. Notably, the event innovatively established a "Public Jury" mechanism, openly recruiting 100 music-loving ordinary audience members from the community and granting them on-site voting rights. This made the artistic judgment more down-to-earth, allowing the public's voice to directly reach the stage, truly adhering to the principle that "art originates from and is for the people."
This carnival consistently followed the theme of "Growth and Transformation." The competition not only provided a platform for university students to showcase their talents but also offered comprehensive support through systematic vocal coaching, band collaboration practice, and national brand exposure. It is dedicated to discovering and nurturing promising young musical talents, helping them transition from campus to broader artistic horizons and complete the leap from enthusiasts to new cultural forces.
"Every music-loving soul is a firefly in the world; every sincere vote can illuminate a distant horizon," the event organizers stated. They expressed that hosting the University Music Carnival aims to use music as a bridge to unite youth power, cultivate public sentiment, and foster a positive, dynamic urban cultural atmosphere. On New Year's Day 2026, the public and music enthusiasts were sincerely invited to gather at Tan Xinpei Park. Amidst the intertwining echoes of millennia-old opera and contemporary youthful waves, they could witness the younger generation writing their ideals with song and paying tribute to the era with melody, jointly playing the first inspiring movement of the New Year.
It is reported that this event was guided by the Wuhan Municipal Commerce Bureau, and hosted by the Jiangxia District Commerce Bureau of Wuhan, the Wuhan Jiangxia District University-Cooperation Development Promotion Center, and the Wuhan Jiangxia State-owned Assets Management Group Co., Ltd. The joint urban execution was carried out by Stubborn Star (Hubei) Culture Media Co., Ltd. and the Jackie Chan Film and Media College of Wuhan Institute of Design and Sciences. In addition to the finals on New Year's Day, the event will also feature two consecutive days of Guochao (National Trend) Carnival performances. Currently, 1,200 spectator seats for the finals are available for free public reservation, and 100 public jury seats are also being openly recruited through official channels.
