CSRC Chair Wu Qing Meets with CPPIB President and CEO John Graham

The Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Wu Qing, met with John Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on the global and Chinese economic and financial landscape, as well as investing in China's capital markets.

Wu Qing stated that, amid a complex and evolving international environment, China's economy has maintained overall stability in the first half of the year, continuing its trend of advancing towards new and improved quality development, demonstrating resilience and vitality. The CSRC will adhere to the principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, resolutely safeguard the stable and healthy operation of the capital markets, steadily expand high-level institutional opening-up, and continuously enhance the convenience for foreign investment participation in the capital markets. He welcomed international institutional investors, including the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, to expand their investments in China and share in the dividends of China's economic and capital market reform and development.

John Graham stated that, as a globally-oriented long-term investment institution, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board places high importance on and maintains a positive outlook on the results of China's economic reform and development. It has long considered China one of the key regions for its global investment portfolio and will continue to adhere to value investment principles, actively deploying and investing in China in the future.
