Stock Track | Axcelis Plunges 12.49% After-Hours on Weak Q1 Outlook Despite Q4 Beat

Stock Track02-18

Axcelis Technologies Inc. (ACLS) experienced a significant after-hours plunge of 12.49% following the release of its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 financial results.

The semiconductor equipment company reported Q4 revenue of $238 million, surpassing the IBES estimate of $215 million. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.49, also beating the consensus estimate of $1.12. However, the company noted that its product revenue for the quarter declined by 7% year-over-year to $224.60 million.

The sharp decline in share price appears primarily driven by the company's guidance for the first quarter of 2026. Axcelis expects revenue of approximately $195 million, along with GAAP diluted earnings per share of about $0.38 and non-GAAP earnings per share of approximately $0.71. This outlook represents a sequential decline from the strong Q4 performance, leading to investor concern about near-term business prospects.
