Discussions were also held with German think tanks, including the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), on future global energy strategy collaborations.
2. On October 28, Yuan Kanglong, Senior Researcher and Level-3 Leading Technical Expert of the Main Grid Department, was invited to speak at the 2025 (7th) National Power Grid Technology Exchange Conference. His keynote speech, titled "Research on Enhancing the Planning of Southern Power Grid’s Resilient Grid," covered the planning and construction progress, framework design principles for disaster prevention, and case studies of key urban projects.
3. From October 29 to 31, the Main Grid and System Departments participated in a special research project on "Key Equipment Technologies and Engineering Applications of Flexible DC Grids." Visits were made to Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power (Zhoushan Flexible DC Project), and State Grid Jibei Electric Power (Zhangbei Flexible DC Project) to discuss foundational stability theories, planning technologies, equipment R&D, and operational experiences.
4. On October 31, Wang Haijin, Researcher at the Strategy Institute, was invited to the 6th International Forum on New Power Systems and the 21st China Southern Power Grid International Technology Forum. He presented a report on "Key Technologies for Electricity-Carbon Accounting Certification Based on Large Language Models," highlighting AI’s potential to improve accuracy and efficiency in carbon accounting.
5. On November 1, Li Yan, Researcher at the Main Grid Department, spoke at the 2025 China Electric Power Autumn Academic Conference. His keynote, "Demonstration Construction and Prospects of New Power Systems," outlined the planning, achievements, and future of flexible grid technologies in Southern China’s pilot zones.
6. On November 2, Wang Haijin presented "Research on Electricity-Carbon Accounting Driven by Large Language Models" at the IEEE International Conference on Energy Engineering and Power Systems, introducing cutting-edge methodologies to the global academic community.
7. On November 5, Guangzhou Electric Power Design Institute won three awards at the China Surveying and Design Association’s National Outstanding Engineering Survey and Design Awards: Second Prize for the 220kV Shuyu Substation, Third Prize for the 500kV Chuting Transmission Line, and Third Prize for the 110kV Lieqiao Substation’s architectural design.
8. From November 9 to 12, the Main Grid Department delivered keynote speeches at the 13th International Conference on Power System Control, Operation, and Management in Hong Kong, hosted by IET. Topics included advanced planning techniques for new power systems and economic optimization for high renewable penetration grids.
9. On November 10, the Distribution Network Department visited the "Electro-Harmony IoT OS" lab of CSG Digital Group to discuss unified IoT architectures, smart terminals, and measurement devices, supporting the "15th Five-Year Plan" for grid transparency.
10. From November 12 to 14, the 2025 Standard Design and Typical Cost System Review Meeting was held in Guangzhou. Led by CSG Energy Research Institute and Guangzhou Electric Power Design Institute, the revised framework will provide technical and cost references for grid planning and operations.
11. On November 14, the Innovation Management Team visited Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and Baiyun Nanjing Electric to study institutional reforms and traditional industry upgrades.
12. Also on November 14, Yulin Power Supply Bureau and CSG’s Distribution and New Energy Departments exchanged views on applying "Four Capabilities Enhancement" and "Six Key Technologies" in Yulin’s "15th Five-Year Plan."
