PLAYMATES TOYS (00869) announced that under the current licensing agreement ("Agreement") between Viacom Media Networks as the licensor and its wholly-owned subsidiary PLAYMATES INTERNATIONAL COMPANY LIMITED ("PICL") as the licensee, PICL was granted the rights to design, manufacture, distribute, and sell "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" products ("Licensed Products"). Since October 2025, both parties have been negotiating the renewal of the Agreement. However, PICL recently received formal notice from the licensor that the Agreement will not be renewed upon its expiration on December 31, 2026. Consequently, PICL's rights to sell Licensed Products will terminate on December 31, 2026, while its rights to dispose of existing inventory will end 90 days after the Agreement's expiration. According to the company's data, revenue from Licensed Products accounted for approximately 8%, 13%, 77%, 47%, and 36% of the Group's consolidated revenue for the years ended December 31, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and the six months ended June 30, 2025, respectively. Following the Agreement's expiration, the Group will continue to seek and evaluate potential licensing opportunities aligned with its strategic considerations while remaining committed to developing and managing existing product lines, including but not limited to "Power Rangers," "MonsterVerse," and "Winx."
