The US Treasury will repurchase up to $6 bln of long-term Treasuries on Thursday. The Treasury had previously said single long-term buybacks would be at least doubled to $4 bln until Nov. 4.
The 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.85%, and the 30-year yield broke above 5.30%.
U.S. stocks tumbled sharply, while the dollar index surged and gold fell as Treasury yields climbed.
