The provincial Department of Commerce, the provincial Department of Finance, Nanjing Customs, and the provincial Tax Service recently jointly announced the first batch of foreign-funded R&D centers qualifying for tax exemption and rebate policies in 2026. Among them, Lens Precision (Taizhou) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Lens Technology (LENS), was newly certified, while six other enterprises including Yingke Biotech and Zhonghui Yuantong successfully passed their reviews.
Lens Precision (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. is primarily engaged in the research, development, and production of metal structural components and new materials for consumer electronics, serving as a key supplier to global leading electronics brands such as Apple and Samsung. The company has pioneered multiple specialized equipment and process technologies, achieving a 17.08% global market share in smartphone metal mid-frame products, ranking second worldwide and first nationwide. Currently, the enterprise is seizing the momentum to extend its innovation reach into smart wearables and new energy vehicles.
The R&D center of Lens Precision (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. brings together more than 1,800 experts and technical talents, with an average annual R&D investment of 335 million yuan, and has introduced 1,252 units of internationally advanced R&D equipment, inspection and application testing instruments, and other supporting facilities. The center has jointly built the "JITRI-Lens Precision (Taizhou) Joint Innovation Center" with the provincial Industrial Technology Research Institute, established joint laboratories with clients such as Apple, and conducted talent training and technology development projects with Anhui University and Qingdao Institute of Technology, continuously raising the industry's technological height and providing solid support for industrial upgrading.
In recent years, the high-tech zone has continued to innovate and build a full-cycle cultivation mechanism for foreign-funded R&D centers. Through measures such as building a database to identify potential candidates, conducting benchmarking diagnostics to address shortcomings, accompanying enterprises throughout the entire process to overcome hurdles, and providing follow-up services to deliver benefits, it has offered closed-loop services for key enterprises like Lens Precision, from preliminary assessment to policy implementation. To date, the zone has a total of seven provincial-level foreign-funded R&D centers enjoying tax exemption and rebate policies, and the "magnetic attraction effect" of the regional open highland is becoming increasingly prominent.
Next, the high-tech zone will optimize the full-cycle cultivation services for foreign-funded R&D centers, enabling more high-quality foreign enterprises not only to be "willing to come" but also "willing to stay," "willing to research," and "willing to upgrade," injecting strong international innovation momentum into the high-quality development of the regional open economy.
