At its 2026 interim results conference held today, China Life Insurance Company Limited provided a detailed update on its artificial intelligence initiatives. Zhang Xinyu, the company's President Assistant, revealed that from a quantifiable perspective, China Life has already developed more than 500 intelligent agents to date. These are deployed across critical areas such as sales services, operational processing, and risk management.

Mr. Zhang elaborated on specific applications. In the sales service domain, the company has created a tailored AI tutoring and training system for its salesforce, which has already delivered notable results. For customer service, leveraging large models, the company has implemented AI for liability determination and information analysis related to accident and critical illness insurance, reducing the claims settlement timeline to just 0.36 days. In risk prevention and control, these agents are now applied to claims reporting, liability assessment, and underwriting information verification processes.

Looking ahead, Mr. Zhang stated that significant opportunities lie ahead for life insurance companies, particularly for institutions like China Life. The first major opportunity stems from the company's long operational cycles and comprehensive business scope, which have allowed it to accumulate extensive long-cycle data assets. These will prove increasingly valuable in the age of artificial intelligence.

The second important opportunity, according to Mr. Zhang, is that AI can dramatically improve the efficiency of standardized tasks. This shift will free up employees to dedicate more time and energy to highly complex and personalized responsibilities.

Finally, the third significant opportunity arises from the professional expertise cultivated through China Life's long-standing and intricate business practices. In the AI era, this accumulated knowledge can be rapidly transferred to frontline service personnel and customers, substantially enhancing the company's ability to serve its clientele.
