During the Spring Festival holiday period from February 15 to February 23, Shanghai International Airport Co.,Ltd. handled a total of 3.659 million inbound and outbound passengers. This figure included 2.38 million passengers at Pudong Airport and 1.279 million at Hongqiao Airport, averaging 407,000 passengers per day. The continuous optimization and relaxation of China's visa-free policies have contributed to a rising popularity of inbound and outbound tourism, as well as northern ice-snow tours and southern winter getaways, leading to sustained growth in passenger traffic at the Shanghai airports during the holiday. Since the beginning of this year's Spring Festival travel period, the daily passenger volume at the Shanghai airports reached 425,000 on February 20, 431,000 on February 21, and 438,000 on February 22, setting new historical records for three consecutive days. The peak day for outbound passenger traffic was February 13, with 215,000 passengers, including 143,000 at Pudong Airport and 72,000 at Hongqiao Airport. The peak day for inbound passenger traffic was February 23, with 231,000 passengers, comprising 152,000 at Pudong Airport and 79,000 at Hongqiao Airport.
Throughout the Spring Festival holiday, Shanghai International Airport Co.,Ltd. actively responded to municipal government initiatives such as the "New Year Consumption Season," "Full Throttle Celebrating the New Year in Shanghai," and "Global Food Festival." Aligning with the airport's "China Young" cultural brand, the facilities were decorated with festive themes and featured over ten different themed performances and interactive passenger activities. Service measures were optimized and refined across the entire passenger journey, creating new consumption scenarios with "multiple benefits and diverse discounts" to better meet the varied and personalized travel needs of passengers during the holiday. These efforts aimed to attract more domestic and international visitors to celebrate the Spring Festival in Shanghai.
