Xiaomi's China marketing general manager, Wei Siqi, stated on social media today that the company has been working to curb the impact of rising memory costs on device pricing, but the recent increase in memory prices has been far greater than anticipated.
To ensure stable product supply and consistent quality, the company has adjusted the suggested retail prices of certain models. The changes affect three devices: starting April 11, the Redmi K90 Pro Max will see a price increase of 200 yuan, while the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max will no longer offer Lunar New Year discounts, though a 200-yuan subsidy will remain for 512GB storage variants.
Xiaomi aims to limit the effect of memory price increases to as few models as possible and asks for customers' understanding.
