XPeng shares jumped over 4% in Hong Kong market and gained 2.6% in overnight trading.

Recently, it was reported that XPENG has obtained an L3 autonomous driving road test license in Guangzhou, initiating regular L3 road tests. The license primarily permits conditional autonomous driving tests on Guangzhou’s intelligent connected vehicle highways. Changjiang Securities noted that XPENG maintains its leadership in intelligent driving through integrated hardware and software advantages. With the deployment of its self-developed Turing chip and advancements in cloud-based foundational models, the company has entered the second-generation VLA phase.

XPENG expects to mass-produce its second-generation VLA with L4 capability by Q1 2026 and plans to launch an L4-capable Robotaxi model the same year.

The automaker has fully pivoted to an AI-driven strategy, positioning itself as a global AI-powered automotive company. It aims to transform into an AI-driven smart mobility tech firm within the next decade. XPENG has established a "three-in-one" embodied intelligence ecosystem, covering AI-powered vehicles, robots, and flying cars. Its "Land Aircraft Carrier" flying car has already secured 7,000 pre-orders, and its manufacturing base, with an annual capacity of 10,000 units, has been completed.
