From January to April this year, the export value of agricultural products from Qingyuan reached 2.1 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 19.2%. Among these, the export value of bamboo shoots and related products was 625.9 million yuan.

In early summer, the bamboo forests in Yingde City, Qingyuan, Guangdong, are lush, and the tender, plump Ma bamboo shoots are entering their peak production and sales season. Recently, under the supervision of Qingyuan Customs, Yingde Juyuan Mabao Ma Bamboo Shoot Co., Ltd. exported a batch of 2,500 boxes of ready-to-eat bamboo shoots to Vietnam. Customs officers visited the company to investigate the production of Ma bamboo shoot products.

Yingde City in Qingyuan is renowned as the "Hometown of Chinese Ma Bamboo Shoots." Local bamboo shoot enterprises are steadily expanding into overseas markets through diversified products such as ready-to-eat bamboo shoots and pre-made bamboo shoot dishes.

"This year's orders are even better than last year's. The company plans to add new equipment and hire more staff to increase production," said Li Zhong, the company's general manager, with delight. From January to April 2026 (Note: This appears to be a typographical error; context suggests 2024), the company's export volume and value of Ma bamboo shoots both more than doubled compared to the same period last year, and its export markets have further expanded.

To assist local bamboo shoot enterprises in further exploring overseas markets, Qingyuan Customs has proactively gathered the latest inspection and quarantine standards from export markets such as Southeast Asia, Europe, and America. They provide timely guidance to help companies adjust production processes and standardize the use of raw and auxiliary materials, focusing on requirements such as pesticide residue limits, microbial indicators, and sanitary production practices to help enterprises improve their self-inspection and control systems.

"In recent years, our overseas orders have been increasing, and our market has expanded to countries like Vietnam," Li Zhong stated.

Shang Chun, head of the inspection section at Qingyuan Customs, indicated that the customs authority will continue to leverage its functions to precisely implement various policies supporting enterprises, continuously optimize regulatory service measures, and provide comprehensive support throughout the supply chain to help distinctive Qingyuan agricultural products like Ma bamboo shoots succeed in international markets.
