BYD Company Limited has officially launched its first flash charging flagship station in East China, the Flash Charging Shanghai Hongqiao Flagship Station, which recently opened its doors. The station integrates efficient energy replenishment, retail convenience, health and wellness services, and a smart vehicle ecosystem, innovating the charging service model with hardcore flash charging technology to boost charging speeds and diverse ancillary services to enhance travel experiences. It creates a new comprehensive service space for urban new energy mobility.
In June of this year, BYD signed an industrial and capital cooperation framework agreement with Sinopec, leveraging their respective core strengths—BYD's leading flash charging technology and Sinopec's extensive offline network of locations—to jointly build a smart energy travel ecosystem. The newly completed Flash Charging Shanghai Hongqiao Flagship Station is a key demonstration project of this collaboration. Moving forward, BYD Flash Charging will deepen its synergy with Sinopec, deploying more comprehensive flagship stations.
As BYD's first flash charging flagship station in East China, this site is open to all new energy vehicles. It is equipped with 6 flash charging piles and 9 fast charging piles. Under normal temperature conditions, new energy vehicles equipped with BYD's second-generation blade battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes using the flash charging technology. The flash charging piles feature an innovative rail-mounted suspended T-shaped design with lightweight, zero-gravity charging guns, allowing for easy single-handed plugging and unplugging. Intelligent services are integrated throughout the entire process; after a one-time vehicle binding, users can enjoy plug-and-charge and seamless payment at any flash charging station nationwide, eliminating the need for repeated scanning or manual settlement.
During the opening event, user representatives were invited to share their real-world flash charging experiences and stories with BYD, and a live demonstration of the full charging process was conducted using the Denza Z9GT model. The "Flash Charging x Ecosystem" smart exhibition area showcased BYD's comprehensive flash charging travel ecosystem achievements, including core technologies such as smart energy replenishment, vehicle-home connectivity, smartphone-vehicle integration, and IoT connectivity. It unlocked diverse vehicle usage scenarios like vehicle-to-load power and full-home smart linkage, offering a tangible experience of the limitless possibilities BYD Flash Charging brings to travel.
Looking ahead, BYD Flash Charging will continue to deploy differentiated flagship stations across the country, enriching the scenario ecosystem. It will integrate energy replenishment, convenience stores, health services, and smart travel, building a broader and more comprehensive national owner service network.
