Major Chinese EV Makers Deny Rumors of Investigations and Summons

On May 9th, leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers Byd Company Limited, XPeng Inc., and GAC Aion issued official statements refuting false rumors regarding being "summoned for talks" or "placed under investigation." The official Weibo account of Byd Company Limited clarified that claims of the company being summoned or investigated are entirely false and constitute malicious rumors. The company stated it has collected evidence and will pursue legal action against the originators of these rumors in accordance with the law. The legal department of XPeng Inc. pointed out that certain social media accounts have been maliciously spreading information, fabricated using AI applications, about "8 automakers being summoned for talks" and "3 companies being investigated for suspected violations," with XPeng Inc.'s name included in these lists. After verification, the company confirmed it has not recently received any such summons, nor is it under any investigation.
