CHINA WANTIAN (01854) has issued a profit warning, indicating that the group expects to record a net loss ranging from approximately HK$27 million to HK$30 million for the six-month period ending June 30, 2026.
This projected loss marks a significant improvement compared to the net loss of approximately HK$46.9 million recorded in the corresponding six-month period ending June 30, 2025, reflecting a reduction of roughly 36% to 42%.
The decrease in losses is primarily attributed to two key factors: (i) a reduction in employee costs within the food and beverage services segment, driven by the closure of certain restaurant operations; and (ii) lower depreciation charges on property, plant and equipment, and right-of-use assets within the same segment, as these assets had been fully impaired in the previous fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
