New China-Laos-Thailand Express Freight Train Adds Direct Zhengzhou-Map Ta Phut Route

Deep News10-20

Zhengzhou Customs announced on October 20 that the China-Laos-Thailand scheduled express freight train (Zhengzhou-Map Ta Phut) has departed from the Zhengzhou International Land Port in Henan Province, exiting through the Mohan Port in Yunnan, with a total journey time of five to six days, arriving at Map Ta Phut Station in Thailand.

The China-Laos-Thailand scheduled express freight train represents a significant expansion of the China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) route network and serves as a newly added "passenger-style" international trade artery between China and ASEAN. Map Ta Phut Station is another direct destination opened in the ASEAN direction following Thailand's Laem Chabang Station.

According to Zhengzhou Customs, the train carried a total of 848 tons of goods including tires, mechanical parts, and plywood, of which 480 tons were chemical raw materials produced by local new materials enterprises in Henan, specifically destined for the chemical industry in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor. The inaugural run of the train further unclogged Henan's international logistics corridor toward ASEAN.

To ensure efficient customs clearance for the train, Zhengzhou Station Customs under Zhengzhou Customs conducted advance guidance on commodity classification and applied measures such as "railway fast clearance" and "inspection before loading," improving customs clearance efficiency by 20%.

Statistics show that in the first nine months of this year, the China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) operated a total of 2,948 trips, carrying 286,000 TEUs, representing year-on-year growth of 30.6% and 26.6% respectively, maintaining a stable growth momentum. With the opening of Map Ta Phut Station, the China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) has established a three-dimensional network of "30 overseas direct destinations plus 10 entry and exit ports," with business coverage spanning more than 40 countries and over 140 cities.
