Beijing Roborock Technology Co.,Ltd. (SH: 688169), a prominent smart home appliance maker known for its Xiaomi ecosystem robotic vacuum cleaners, has attracted significant investment interest linked to Tencent's chairman, Ma Huateng.

As of June 1st, Shenzhen Century Huixiang Technology Co., Ltd. held 1.8326 million shares in Roborock, representing a 0.71% stake and making it the company's tenth-largest shareholder. Based on Roborock's closing price of 112.8 yuan per share as of June 8th, the market value of this stake is estimated to be approximately 207 million yuan.

A review of corporate records indicates that Century Huixiang is an entity under Ma Huateng's control. Data from financial platforms suggests this marks the first appearance of this particular entity as a shareholder in an A-share listed company.

Corporate records show Century Huixiang was established in June 2011 with a registered capital of 1 million yuan. The company is wholly owned by Shenzhen Tencent Ruijian Investment. The chairman of Century Huixiang is Yao Leiwen, who, according to public reports, serves as a managing director of Tencent Investment.

Shenzhen Tencent Ruijian Investment is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen Tencent Ruitou Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. This parent company is equally owned (50% each) by two limited partnerships: Shenzhen Tenglv Enterprise Management and Shenzhen Tengyuan Enterprise Management. Both partnerships were established in 2019 with a registered capital of 1 million yuan each and share an identical ownership structure: Shenzhen Tengqing Enterprise Management holds 75%, Xu Chenye holds 20%, and Lu Shan holds 5%.

Shenzhen Tengqing Enterprise Management is owned 80% by Ma Huateng and 20% by Xu Chenye. Public records indicate Xu Chenye is also a co-founder of Tencent and serves as its Chief Information Officer, overseeing the strategic planning and development of the company's website and information systems. Lu Shan is Tencent's Senior Executive Vice President and President of the Technology and Engineering Group.

Roborock's primary business involves the design, research, development, production, and sale of intelligent hardware such as smart robots. Its main products include robotic vacuum cleaners, floor washing machines, robotic lawn mowers, and other smart appliances.

Public information reveals that Roborock's actual controller, Chairman, and General Manager, Chang Jing, briefly worked as a senior product manager at Tencent from February 2010 to February 2011. Furthermore, media reports indicate that "Loke Auto," a company founded by Chang Jing, received investment from Tencent in 2021.

Roborock's financial performance experienced minor fluctuations in 2024 and 2025. The company's stock price declined somewhat following a peak in October of last year. For the first quarter of this year, Roborock reported revenue of 4.227 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.31%, and a net profit of 323.2 million yuan, representing growth of 20.83%.

It is noteworthy that Century Huixiang had not previously appeared in the shareholder lists of A-share listed companies. The company currently holds a 0.5854% stake in Tongcheng Travel (HK: 00780) and is also the third-largest shareholder in the gaming company Kuro Technology.
