Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the offline roadshow competition for the Hong Kong, China regional qualifier of the 2026 GuanZhuLiu Dance Competition officially kicked off on September 25 at the Asia Television Center in Hong Kong.
Sohu.com founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Zhang Chaoyang attended the competition, joining dancers from various regions and audience members on site to launch this transnational trend dance extravaganza.
The event was star-studded, assembling a luxurious guest lineup of numerous celebrity artists and top professional dancers. Shen Xiaoting, Liu Daolian, Modyssey, Wang Yiren, Shin Ji-min, and Han Dong served as event star promoters, with Han Dong also serving as a celebrity judge; Riki and Choi Young-jun served as super judges, scoring the competition with an international professional perspective; Duan Yixuan and Xu Ziyin made surprise appearances as supporting guests; and veteran domestic dancers including Sunzi Tuan Maoning and Tang Yuanyuan Yuanzhou took seats on the judging panel.

Before the contestant roadshow began, mainland Chinese artists Duan Yixuan, Xu Ziyin, and Wang Yiren took the stage first, delivering powerful live singing and dancing performances that instantly ignited the atmosphere.
Following them, Modyssey boy group, Korean artists Shin Ji-min, Liu Daolian, Shen Xiaoting and other star promoters presented their exclusive stages one after another, with many artists bringing new work premieres and original choreography pieces.
The diverse and spectacular performances not only offered professional stage demonstrations for the competing dancers but also allowed the live audience to immersively experience the charm of international trend dance.

The registration phase of this competition was highly popular, attracting over one hundred teams to enthusiastically sign up. After strict online screening, 35 high-quality dance crews broke through and stepped onto the Hong Kong offline competitive stage.
Contestant performances were divided into two halves, with each team taking the stage in turn to perform their chosen works, and a total of 17 teams appearing first in the upper half. The judging panel scored comprehensively based on multiple dimensions including choreographic creativity, technical execution, musical understanding, and stage charisma. The competition also featured on-site guest commentary segments, where guests offered practical suggestions from multiple angles including movement details, choreography logic, and stage arrangement, allowing contestants to gain professional guidance while competing.
In the latter half of the competition, stage performances by judges and guests continued to raise the level of the event. Veteran judges Sunzi Tuan Maoning and Tang Yuanyuan Yuanzhou presented their signature stage works and, drawing on years of industry experience, exchanged creative insights face-to-face with competing dancers; Korean girl group DreamCatcher member Han Dong delivered a spectacular stage show; Japanese super judge Riki presented a top-level choreography stage, launching a "dance copy challenge" on site, improvising original choreography segments and interacting with Choi Young-jun, empowering the event with top professional prowess.

After intense competition, "BeatS Crew" took first place in this roadshow competition, "你不是车主你不能懂我的苦难" claimed second place, and "珠海 mmchk" and "七校霸火力全开" tied for third place. Zhang Chaoyang and three judge representatives jointly presented honors and encouragement to the top three teams. The winning teams will receive invitations to the year-end "GuanZhuLiu Dance Gala," representing the Hong Kong regional qualifier to share the stage with winners from national sub-events and online tracks, showcasing the elegance of Hong Kong dancers on the annual grand stage.

After the awards ceremony, a one-and-a-half-hour random dance carnival kicked off with great fanfare. Attending artists walked onto the stage one after another, breaking the boundary between stage and audience, improvising dances and interacting with contestants and GuanZhuLiu dance broadcasters to the music, pushing the atmosphere to its peak.

Zhang Chaoyang said in a pre-competition media interview that GuanZhuLiu is a real-person social platform for videos and articles, and people who dance are very willing to express themselves through video, so they especially enjoy posting content on it.
