CH ENERGY ENG (03996) announced that on December 16, 2025, Phase I of the Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park (Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integration) Project, the world's largest green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol integrated project invested and constructed by the company, officially commenced operation.
Phase I of the Songyuan Project, which began construction in September 2023 with a total investment of CNY 6.946 billion, includes 800 MW of renewable energy power generation (750 MW wind and 50 MW solar). The project successfully produced its first batch of green hydrogen on December 1, 2025, before achieving full operation on December 16, 2025.
The project adopts an innovative technical approach combining "direct renewable power supply + energy storage for peak regulation + high-efficiency electrolysis hydrogen production + dynamic ammonia synthesis integration," solving the global challenge of dynamic coupling between fluctuating renewable energy and stable chemical production. It has set four world records: largest scale, largest hydrogen storage capacity, widest load-flexible process, and largest alkaline electrolysis hydrogen production facility. Additionally, it pioneers four internationally leading technologies: optimized matching of wind-solar-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol systems, 100% green power direct supply, flexible green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol production, and large-scale integrated control of wind-solar-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol systems.
The project achieves 100% localization of core equipment, filling the gap in China's green power-direct-coupled flexible hydrogen-ammonia-methanol production. It has generated over 100 patents, proprietary technologies, and standards.
Upon full operation, the project will produce 45,000 tons of green hydrogen, 200,000 tons of green ammonia, and green methanol annually, equivalent to saving 600,000 tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by 740,000 tons per year. It enables local green power consumption and high-value conversion.
The project has obtained the ISCC EU Green Certification, qualifying its products for the international green energy market. Its green ammonia has already entered the global maritime fuel market.
At the policy level, the project has been selected as one of China's first green and low-carbon advanced technology demonstration projects by the National Development and Reform Commission, a key national pilot for green liquid fuel technology and industrialization by the National Energy Administration, and a global energy interconnection demonstration project, receiving recognition and support at both national and international levels.
