On April 28, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions announced the list of recipients for the 2026 National May Day Labor Awards. Petrochina Company Limited saw four of its units receive the National May Day Labor Award Certificate, seven individuals were awarded the National May Day Labor Medal, and eleven collectives were recognized as National Worker Pioneers.
The awards aim to motivate workers to achieve excellence and drive innovation, contributing wisdom and strength towards fulfilling the Party's central tasks. Nationwide, a total of 379 units received the National May Day Labor Award Certificate, 1,462 individuals were honored with the National May Day Labor Medal, and 1,183 collectives were designated as National Worker Pioneers.
This year's selection process introduced new changes compared to previous years. For the first time, it was explicitly required that recommended candidates from each province, autonomous region, or municipality must obtain approval from their respective provincial-level commendation leadership group, with an additional inspection环节 added to the procedure.
An official from the relevant department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions stated that this year's honored collectives and individuals primarily exhibit three key characteristics. First, the focus is on grassroots levels, with a certain proportion of workers from new employment forms, such as food delivery personnel, being recognized. Second, emphasis is placed on critical sectors, particularly key areas outlined in the 14th and 15th Five-Year Plans, including new energy, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, and quantum communication. Third, the structural distribution has been optimized, with awardees covering 19 major categories of the national economy.
Congratulations to all the honorees!
