Stock Track | AGCO Corp Plummets 7.48% Intraday After Q2 Earnings and Revenue Miss Estimates, Guidance Disappoints

Stock Track07-30 21:45

Shares of AGCO Corp fell sharply by 7.48% during intraday trading on Thursday, following the agricultural equipment manufacturer's release of second-quarter financial results that missed analyst expectations on both earnings and revenue, coupled with a weaker-than-expected full-year outlook.

The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.43, falling short of the consensus estimate of $1.48. Net sales came in at $2.61 billion, a 1% decline from the prior year and significantly below the projected $2.75 billion. The disappointing results were attributed to softer industry demand, as farmers delayed equipment purchases in response to rising input costs and demand uncertainty.

Adding to the negative sentiment, AGCO issued its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting adjusted EPS in a range of $5.50 to $5.75, well below the FactSet estimate of $6.10. The company also forecasted net sales between $10.1 billion and $10.2 billion, missing the consensus estimate of $10.6 billion. The combination of a top-and-bottom-line miss and a reduced outlook fueled the sell-off, with the stock extending losses that had begun in the pre-market session.
