51WORLD Forges Strategic Partnership in Aerospace Sector with Huantian Intelligence

51WORLD (ASX: 06651) has announced the formal establishment of a strategic collaboration in the aerospace domain with Huantian Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. Huantian Intelligence is a leading commercial aerospace enterprise in China, specializing in the overall development and in-orbit operation of Earth observation remote sensing satellites. It is also the largest commercial space entity in southwestern China with full independent capability for constructing and operating remote sensing satellite constellations.

The collaboration will focus on the acquisition of high-precision satellite remote sensing data and the reconstruction of "physics-ready" data assets. The two companies will jointly develop the world's first commercial remote sensing satellite specifically designed for physical AI training and simulation applications, named Earth Clone Star "ECS-1." This partnership signifies the first deep-level co-construction between China's physical AI industry and the commercial space sector at the satellite payload layer.

The ECS-1 satellite is the first of its kind globally, custom-built to meet the data requirements of physical AI, featuring multiple industry-leading specifications. It carries an optical imaging payload with a 0.5-meter ground sampling distance (GSD) and an imaging swath width of ≥60 km. The satellite employs an advanced dual-line array stereo push-broom imaging system, enabling stereo mapping capabilities. A single pass can generate high-precision digital surface models (DSM) and digital elevation models (DEM). In contrast, traditional commercial optical remote sensing satellites typically require multi-pass imagery and joint calculations to achieve similar accuracy in 3D terrain reconstruction.

Key Performance Advantages

The collaboration offers several significant efficiency improvements. First, 3D terrain reconstruction efficiency is greatly enhanced. Leveraging its single-pass stereo synchronous imaging configuration, the satellite can complete regional stereo mapping in a single overflight, significantly reducing the operational cycle for regional 3D reconstruction compared to the multi-pass mosaic modeling approach of traditional single-line array optical satellites.

Second, data processing efficiency is multiplied. By integrating 51WORLD's MODEL world model and its 4DGS (4D Gaussian Splatting) AI processing pipeline, the end-to-end cycle from satellite imaging to deliverable scenes aims to be compressed from the industry-standard days to hours.

Third, data acquisition costs are substantially lowered. The comprehensive cost of acquiring real-scene 3D data at municipal to provincial scales can be reduced by approximately 90% compared to traditional aerial oblique photography.

Project Timeline

Regarding project progress, the ECS-1 satellite has recently completed its construction plan review and has formally initiated the tender process. It is scheduled for launch and network integration by the end of 2027.

For a long time, the commercial value of commercial satellite data has been difficult to fully realize, primarily due to technical gaps between raw remote sensing imagery and the training and simulation needs of physical AI. As a leader in China's physical AI simulation field, 51WORLD possesses full-stack capabilities to rapidly convert raw geographic remote sensing data into "physics-ready" simulation scenes. In this collaboration, the data acquisition from the satellite and the physical AI scene reconstruction will form a direct pipeline, evolving from "perceiving the Earth" to "understanding the Earth."

Based on its self-developed physical AI engine and the 51WORLD MODEL world model, the company undertakes the core functions of "understanding" and "generating." Through multimodal perception and large-scale spatial semantic learning, the model can uniformly encode multi-source heterogeneous data from ECS-1 and existing satellites, aerial platforms, and ground sources, achieving cross-scale reconstruction from pixel-level imagery to a semantic digital world.

Relying on the 4DGS neural rendering pipeline, raw stereo imagery is processed through an automated workflow involving steps like stereo matching and DSM/DEM generation, sparse point cloud reconstruction and densification, 4DGS neural rendering, full-scene semantic segmentation and element-level annotation, standardized semantic system mapping, and physical property binding (such as friction, reflectivity, passability, load capacity, etc.). The final output is an "understandable, interactive, trainable," and ready-to-use "physics-ready" data asset that can be directly supplied to downstream physical AI applications.

Additionally, the two parties have complementary plans for the SAR satellite ECS-2. It will be equipped with a fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar and possess InSAR deformation monitoring capabilities, with an imaging swath width of 40 km. Its microwave cloud-penetrating characteristics enable all-weather, day-and-night observation. When cloud cover renders ECS-1's optical imaging ineffective, ECS-2 will provide supplementary measurements to ensure uninterrupted data collection in key areas.

The data from the ECS-1 satellite will provide stable underlying data support for the physical AI services across 51WORLD's entire product line. It aims to expand commercial aerospace application scenarios, empowering fields such as digital twins, autonomous driving simulation, robotics training, low-altitude economy, geological emergency response, and natural resources and major engineering management. This will address existing capability gaps and provide a cost advantage.

Looking ahead, this foundation could support the company in deploying space-based computing power. By extending ground-based computing systems to near-Earth orbit, it would help establish a complete closed-loop system for integrated space-ground intelligent perception and application.
