[Click to register] Sina Tech News, October 19 afternoon — Recently, KE Holdings' philanthropy arm and People magazine held the "New World, Old Friends — Silver-Age Life Themed Salon" and released a co-produced special supplement of the same name, "New World, Old Friends — Observations on Silver-Age Life in the AI Era." On the same day, KE Holdings' philanthropy arm issued a "Neighbors Have Companions" initiative to agent partners and community neighbors nationwide, calling on neighbors to help each other through daily mutual assistance, allowing human warmth and technology to walk together, and making communities once again places where "a distant relative is not as good as a near neighbor."

KE Holdings Inc. (BEKE) Vice President and Executive Chairman of the KE Holdings Philanthropy Foundation, Jia Shengping, said in his opening speech that over the past year, seniors in the KE Holdings philanthropy community elderly-assistance program have eagerly taken the initiative to learn AI and other new technologies and tools, trying to step into the "new world"; the smart devices installed under the KE Holdings philanthropy "Living Alone Guardian Plan" have also played an important role in the home safety of elderly people living alone. But experience from the front lines of philanthropy tells us that technology can make care more timely and make life more convenient for seniors, yet it cannot replace human involvement.

The special supplement "New World, Old Friends — Observations on Silver-Age Life in the AI Era," released on the same day by KE Holdings' philanthropy arm and People magazine, is based on extensive earlier user submissions and in-depth interviews with experts and industry figures, presenting on multiple levels the delight, trouble, and reflections of new and old friends as they enter the "new world."

On the day of the Double Ninth Festival, KE Holdings' philanthropy arm simultaneously launched the "Neighbors Have Companions" initiative to agent partners and community neighbors nationwide, calling on everyone to lend a hand to those around them as much as they can, so that in the age of technology, mutual support among people can add a measure of warmth and security to life.

Since 2018, relying on its nationwide store network and agent volunteer system, KE Holdings' philanthropy arm started with the community public-interest class "Let Me Teach You How to Use a Mobile Phone" and gradually expanded to the "Let Me Teach You How to Prevent Falls" class. In 2025, it successively launched the "Steady and Secure Plan" and the "Living Alone Guardian Plan." As of September 2026, "Let Me Teach You How to Use a Mobile Phone" has reached 142 cities, held about 130,000 classes, and served more than 1.82 million person-times; "Let Me Teach You How to Prevent Falls" has held 10,332 classes and served more than 220,000 person-times; the "Steady and Secure Plan" has completed construction and renovation of 1,682 building units in 48 communities in Beijing and has landed in Shanghai, where the first batch completed phased renovations in 4 communities, installing wall-mounted handrails and anti-slip warning strips in 46 stairwells; the "Living Alone Guardian Plan" has deployed more than 3,500 smart devices in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai, providing 24/7 on-duty response.
