Shanghai Airport Reports 1.34% Passenger Traffic Decline at Pudong in January

Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd. announced on February 13 that in January 2026, Pudong International Airport recorded 46,996 aircraft movements, a decrease of 1.90% year-on-year. Passenger throughput reached 7.0532 million, down 1.34% compared to the same period last year. Cargo and mail throughput totaled 343,800 tons, reflecting a 12.73% increase year-on-year.

For passenger traffic, domestic routes handled 4.008 million passengers, up 1.09% year-on-year, while international routes saw 3.0452 million passengers, a decline of 4.36%.

At Hongqiao International Airport, aircraft movements reached 24,074, an increase of 0.56% year-on-year. Passenger throughput was 4.2204 million, rising 3.94% compared to the same period last year. Cargo and mail throughput stood at 34,700 tons, down 7.64% year-on-year.
