On April 27, Bank of Communications completed the issuance of its first 2026 Tier 2 capital bond tranche in the interbank market. The bond has a total issuance scale of 40 billion yuan, with a maturity of 5+5 years and a coupon rate of 1.97%.

The issuance fully capitalized on favorable market conditions and received broad subscription from various types of investors, including banks, funds, securities firms, and insurance companies. An additional 10 billion yuan was issued beyond the base amount of 30 billion yuan, reflecting strong market confidence in the bank's solid operational performance and future growth prospects.

The proceeds from this issuance will be used to supplement Bank of Communications' Tier 2 capital, further strengthening its capital base and optimizing its capital structure. This move provides robust capital support for the bank's high-quality development and aids it in meeting the first-phase total loss-absorbing capacity requirements as a global systemically important bank.

Bank of Communications will continue to advance the issuance of capital instruments, support the implementation of key financial initiatives, deepen its high-quality development efforts, and contribute to the advancement of China as a financial powerhouse.
