Deep News04-09

Three major listed pork producers—Muyuan Foods Co., Ltd. (002714.SZ), New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd. (000876.SZ), and Wens Foodstuff Group Co., Ltd. (300498.SZ)—recently disclosed their hog sales performance for March 2026.

In terms of sales volume, Muyuan Foods recorded an increase in commercial hog sales month-over-month but a decrease year-over-year. Both Wens Foodstuff Group and New Hope Liuhe reported growth in hog product sales both sequentially and annually.

In March, Muyuan Foods sold 6.751 million commercial hogs, up 46.7% from the previous month but down 2.65% compared to the same period last year. Wens Foodstuff Group sold 3.6828 million hogs (including live hogs and fresh products), marking a 36.55% increase month-over-month and an 18.97% rise year-over-year. New Hope Liuhe sold 1.3047 million commercial hogs, up 32.83% from February and 18% higher than March 2025.

Wens Foodstuff Group attributed the month-over-month increase in hog sales to higher earlier placements of piglets. New Hope Liuhe noted that the significant sequential change was due to the low sales base in February, which coincided with the Spring Festival holiday.

Regarding sales revenue, all three companies reported month-over-month increases but year-over-year declines in hog product revenue.

In March, Muyuan Foods generated 8.606 billion yuan in commercial hog sales revenue, up 34.4% from the previous month but down 32.73% compared to the same period last year. Wens Foodstuff Group reported hog sales revenue of 4.828 billion yuan, a 22.04% increase month-over-month but an 11.27% decrease year-over-year. New Hope Liuhe's commercial hog sales revenue reached 1.547 billion yuan, up 16.62% from February but down 19.86% compared to March 2025.

Muyuan Foods stated that the significant year-over-year decline in both sales price and revenue was primarily due to fluctuations in the hog market.

In terms of average selling prices, all three companies reported declines both month-over-month and year-over-year. The sequential decreases ranged between 12% and 15%, while the annual declines fell between 30% and 34%.

In March, the average selling price for Muyuan Foods' commercial hogs was 9.91 yuan per kilogram, down 14.5% from February and 30.7% lower than the same period last year. Wens Foodstuff Group's average live hog selling price was 10.11 yuan per kilogram, down 12.99% month-over-month and 32.01% year-over-year. New Hope Liuhe's average commercial hog selling price was 9.74 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 14.93% from the previous month and 33.06% lower than March 2025.

Wens Foodstuff Group indicated that the year-over-year decline in live hog selling prices was mainly influenced by changes in domestic hog market conditions. New Hope Liuhe attributed the significant annual price variation to market oversupply.
