Precious metal shares plunged in premarket trading. ProShares Ultra Gold down 13%; US Gold, ProShares Ultra Silver down about 11%; Endeavour Silver down 10%.

Spot gold plunged 6% to erase its year-to-date gains and trade just above $4,200 an ounce.
