Yonghui Superstores Projects Second-Year Loss of -2.14 Billion Yuan After "Pangdonglai-Style Revamp"

Deep News10:26

Yonghui Superstores Co.,Ltd. recently issued a performance forecast for 2025, projecting a net loss of -2.14 billion yuan, which is 670 million yuan deeper than the loss incurred in 2024, marking the fifth consecutive year of losses for the company.

The company stated that stores which completed their remodeling in 2024 have shown significant improvements in both operating revenue and net profit. However, because these revamped stores still represent a relatively small proportion of the total store count, and newly remodeled stores in 2025 involved high upfront investments and have not yet become profitable, the contribution from these adjusted stores to the company's net profit for 2025 remains quite limited.

It is reported that Yonghui Superstores initiated its "Pangdonglai-style" store revamp model starting May 6, 2024. Throughout 2025, the company conducted deep renovations on 315 stores and closed 381 stores that did not align with the company's future strategic positioning.

On January 23, the hashtag topic "#学胖东来的第二年永辉又亏了21亿#" (In the Second Year of Learning from Pangdonglai, Yonghui Lost Another 2.1 Billion Yuan) became a trending topic on Weibo.

Some netizens commented critically, stating, "Before the upgrade, it was super crowded; after the upgrade, it's ridiculously expensive, and no one goes anymore," and "They only learned the surface aspects but failed to grasp the essence."
