The Ministry of Education has recently completed its supplementary work for the 2026 "Vocational Education Professional Directory," adding a total of 27 new vocational education programs. These include 9 higher vocational college programs and 18 vocational undergraduate programs.
This round of additions focuses on addressing urgent talent needs in key areas such as the digital economy, low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment, urban renewal, and essential public services. For instance, within the producer services sector, new vocational undergraduate programs have been introduced, including technical brokerage services and low-altitude transportation engineering technology.
In the consumer services sector, new higher vocational college programs have been established, covering areas like infant and toddler family nurturing and guidance, as well as travel-based wellness operation and management. Several new programs are concentrated on pivotal fields like the digital economy and green economy, actively aligning with new professions and job roles outlined in the national occupational classification system.
To address emerging professions such as robotics engineering technicians, new vocational undergraduate and college programs have been added, including humanoid robot engineering technology, digital twin engineering technology, and vehicle-to-everything communication technology. In the realm of green energy, focusing on hydrogen energy and energy storage, new programs have been established, such as the vocational undergraduate program in hydrogen energy engineering technology and the higher vocational college program in intelligent operation and maintenance technology for energy storage materials and equipment.
The supplementary process for these programs was fully supported by industry-education integration consortia and municipal-level industry-education alliances, translating real-world industry demands and core corporate needs into the basis for establishing these new specializations. Since the release of the "Vocational Education Professional Directory (2021)," vocational education has regularly conducted annual supplements to continuously enhance the alignment between its professional structure and industry requirements.
