On December 2, Luo Yonghao took to Weibo to express his strong criticism of the luxury audio brand McIntosh. He stated: "McIntosh is the most deceptive luxury audio brand I've ever encountered in my life. The vast majority of their models have terrible sound quality, poor quality control, and shoddy craftsmanship. The only thing worth mentioning is the retro blue glass dashboard, which looks nice—but it’s also extremely fragile. While luxury brands in the fashion industry also exploit consumers, at least they don’t falsely claim superior functionality, and their craftsmanship is usually decent."
On December 1, Luo Yonghao had already hinted at his plans, posting: "In the coming months, our team will gather the world’s most famous high-end and luxury audio brands and conduct large-scale blind tests with volunteers (each session will be supervised by a notary). We’ll also produce a series of videos to expose those who pretend to be experts while peddling subpar products. This has been a long-standing goal of mine, and it’s finally happening. I’ve even decided on the series title—'Operation Low Tide.'"
