Hong Kong's three major stock indices all moved higher during the morning session. At the midday close, the Hang Seng Index was up 0.45% at 24,829.11, while the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.92% and the HSCEI edged up 0.08%.
Across the market, technology and internet stocks showed a mixed performance. Some shares advanced, while others declined, with Bilibili Inc falling more than 3% and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd down over 1%.
Gold-related stocks saw broad-based gains, with Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. surging more than 12%. This movement followed gold prices breaching the $4,300 per ounce level on June 15th.
Chip stocks exhibited notable strength, with Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor Limited leading the charge, its shares jumping over 11%.
Aviation stocks also posted significant increases, with China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited climbing more than 9%.
The newly listed company Liuliu Mei made a spectacular debut, its share price skyrocketing over 189% on its first trading day. During its public offering phase, the subscription was oversubscribed by approximately 6,587 times.
