In an effort to deepen national defense education and promote the regular, long-term publicity of national defense mobilization knowledge, Yueyang Subdistrict collaborated with Shanghai Normal University Affiliated Middle School Songjiang Branch on the afternoon of June 8. The event involved organizing 110 first-year high school teachers and students to visit the Sixiangyuan National Defense Mobilization Publicity and Education Base for an immersive research and practice activity themed "Experiencing National Defense Power."
Guided by detailed explanations from docents, the students explored an immersive promotional corridor on national defense mobilization and civil air defense knowledge installed along the slopes. Within the civil air defense engineering section, participants systematically studied the two main themes of national defense mobilization and civil air defense through displays featuring the cartoon mascot "Xiao Haiwei." This provided them with a new understanding of various civil defense facilities, including ventilation systems, blast doors, emergency toilets, and overpressure exhaust valves.
This themed research and practice activity leveraged the Sixiangyuan National Defense Mobilization Publicity and Education Base to present knowledge about national defense mobilization, civil air defense, and related engineering in an innovative way, making national defense education tangible and accessible for learning.
Moving forward, Yueyang Subdistrict plans to fully utilize the role of such educational bases to continuously enhance the depth and effectiveness of national defense publicity and education, further advancing the implementation of national defense mobilization and civil air defense education.
