MW AMD stock closes at fifth straight record high following report Nvidia-Arm deal may get blocked

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. $(AMD)$ shares closed at a fifth consecutive record high on Tuesday following a report that Nvidia Corp.'s $(NVDA)$ acquisition of Arm Ltd. may get blocked by U.K. regulators. AMD shares closed up 3.6% at $112.56, for a fifth straight day of 2%-or-more gains and record high closing prices. On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that the U.K. may block Nvidia's $40 billion acquisition of U.K.-based Arm from Japan's SoftBank Group Corp. citing national security reasons. Nvidia shares closed up 0.3% at $198.15.
