--Casino operator MGM Resorts International recently approached Genting Singapore Ltd.'s controlling shareholder, the billionaire Lim family, to express its interest in a deal, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
--The discussions didn't lead to an agreement but MGM could resume its pursuit of the company, the report said.
--Other potential suitors have also been in the preliminary stages of studying Genting though there's no certainty the deliberations will lead to a transaction, Bloomberg reported.
--MGM in May made an offer to acquire a European mobile gambling operator for $607 million, part of an international expansion of its online business.
