Allied Esports Entertainment Inc.'s board of directors appointed Yinghua Chen to become the next chief executive officer, succeeding interim chief Lyle Berman.

Mr. Berman served as co-chairman and interim CEO since February, when previous chief Libing Wu stepped down.

The company said Thursday that Mr. Berman would retain his position as co-chairman of the board and has been appointed as vice president of mergers and acquisitions.

Before becoming CEO, Ms. Chen was the company's president, chief investment officer and board secretary. Ms. Chen will continue to act as president alongside her duties as CEO, the company said.
